Information from the Merge

The definition of "The Merge" is to combine Ethereum's existing execution layer (the mainnet we use today) with the system-operated Beacon Chain layer (PoS).

Resulting in a major change in the working system from Proof-of-Work (PoW) completely to Proof-of-Stake (PoS).
