TON work on system of Sharding which can be explain as having blockchain within another blockchain. If the main chain was already full with transaction, shard chain will work as subchain to distribute the overflow of transaction to not accumulate at mainnet only. This unique function lead to higher number of transaction can be process at faster speed.
